July In Review

I'm skipping May and June, because I did absolutely nothing SCA-related in those two months.  I took a much-needed break from SCAdian life, and focused on working on my house - gardening, painting ceilings, rearranging furniture, cleaning out the garage.

I didn't get much SCA stuff done in July, either, but I did manage to:

  • finish a hat I started long ago, and I love it
  • fix up an old wooden box, and paint pretty pictures on it

The first event of the Fall 2013 season (for me) is War of Ages, on September 7th...and I have a loooooot of things to get done in August to get ready. Let the projects - and the blogging - commence!

Oops...again.

I am *terrible* at keeping up with my Month In Review posts, you guys.  They're mostly just for record-keeping purposes, anyway - makes it easier to find things six months from now, you know?  So anyway, here's 2013 so far:

January:

  • couple of plastic masks for a masked ball that I ended up not attending, lol
  • was on a cruise, so not much else happened :)

February:

March:

April:

So far, for the month of May, I've been working solely on projects for my house, which you can see over on that blog.  I haven't been eventing, and I probably won't be eventing throughout the coming summer, or working on much, SCA-wise, as I'm about to be astounding low on funds until this coming fall when my financial situation will right itself again (long story, though not a huge deal in the long run).

I will, however, be working on a new bliaut for myself, for the Fall Baronial event in October;  and I'll likely be crocheting more stuff, making more jewelry, and doing other small accessory-type projects with materials I already have on hand.  So, while posting may be sporadic, and likely not all that impressive, I'll be *here*.  See you all soon. :)

IT LIVES.

More or less.   No kidding, I was sick for like two and a half weeks.  And I've been back at work this week, catching up and trying to get my shizz in order.

At the moment I'm working on an A&S thing that I can't tell you about yet (it's a surprise for someone); and I'm about to start my pre-event-season sewing, so there'll be LOTS of updates soon, I promise!

Meanwhile, here's

Not a very productive couple of months, but hey, it's Summer!  And did I mention I had the freaking plague?  Yeah.

April In Review

Yes, I know it's May 24th.  SHHH.

April In Review:
PROJECTS

  • whomped up a simple, black cotehardie for myself for Queen's Champion
  • Made a little red cloak for the Clothiers' Guild entry into the A&S competition at the Stargate-Loch Sollier co-baronial event
  • painted six new charters for the kingdom (not blogged about, sorry.  They're not original designs, just un-colored blanks that you paint and turn in. I'll blog about originals when I do them).
  • hosted a silk banner painting class at my house for friends, and learned to paint silk!  Also helped make a giant awesome banner for the company...and then completely forgot to share it here.  Whoops!

EVENTS
  • Queen's Champion
  • Stargate-Loch Sollier co-baronial

Light month!  I was actually sick off and on for most of it.  :(

November Month In Review, and Some Shiny Stuff

Late again!  At least I remembered.

inspired in part by the necklace Inara wears
in the Firefly episode "Jaynestown"   :o)

Month In Review

I was going to start doing these monthly to make it easier to find things at a glance, and also to keep track of everything I've been doing, and the workload I make for myself.  This is the first one I've remembered to do, hehe.

Started blue cloth buttons for long blue sleeves
Started a little wooden sewing box
New barbette (2) and fillet cap
Hat
Lute bag/carrying case
Blue/teal half sleeves with gold/crystal buttons
Small red footstool for camp
Grey linen côtehardie
Patterned a friend of mine for a fitted, supportive côte...and forgot to take pics or write about it  :)

September 2011
Black côtehardie & embroidered/pearled veil & wimple for Fall Baronial choral performance
New linen fighting shirt for Vasilii, with padded shoulders to help prevent armor bites
Added faux-fur trim to Vasilii's red shuba
Second pair of [black] pants for Vasilii
Made a few necklace/earring sets to wear with garb
