SCA: What's Next, and the Blue Star Blanket

As promised, here's a picture of the gigantic blue star blanket I crocheted over the past month and a half:

That's a queen sized bed, for reference - the blanket is 72" across/diameter, and lives in my living room, which is also mostly blue.  It took me about 7 weeks of working on it off and on to complete.  The pattern, if anyone's interested, is Betty McKnit's "6-Day Star Blanket", available on Ravelry, YouTube, and her blog. The yarn is Lion Brand's "Ferris Wheel" in the colorway "New Moon".  I was originally planning to go back over it and embroider some stars and swirls on it like Van Gogh's Starry Night painting, but I'm not sure if I really want to. It's awfully pretty as it is.

What am I working on right now?  Still that wool coat for War of the Rams next month.  I've been stalled on it for some weeks now because I've been whirlwind-ing around the house doing annual deep-cleaning (isn't that normally done in the Spring? I'm doing it now) in preparation for a Halloween party I'm hosting next weekend.  We also lost a tree, and it's been weeks getting it taken care of and removed, and I've had a RIDICULOUS amount of yardwork to do to clean up after the whole process. Yeesh!

So the coat needs fabric edge guarding trim, and tablet-woven trim as decoration, both of which I'm in the process of creating.  I have another weaving project I'm working on that's kind of long-term (show you when it's done).  I'm also still ostensibly working on that male Viking tunic, but I've kind of stalled out on that as well.  It's been a weird month.  I'm hoping to bring my weaving and that tunic to War of the Rams next month to work on while I'm there.

See you soon, hopefully with pictures of that coat!
